...Er. Once you're legal to drink, of course. Dang, I always forget how young you are!

Technically I'm legal to drink at home over here, and 18 is the legal limit for buying alcohol/drinking outsid eth home, rather than 21, so only, what, 2 and a bit years rather than 5 or so! *is incredulous about American drinking laws*

Yeeeeeeah, American drinking laws worry me immensely. Not to mention that I figure they contribute to the stupidity of Americans in general once they do start drinking because ooo, it's so rebellious or something. :P

Do you have student bars and stuff at the collages, or is it a bit pointless?

I guess it's like the opposite of France where they grow up with alcohol and so binge drinking is less of a problem. Mind you, it's pretty bad here.

Not so much in general, yeah. Bars and pubs have to follow the rules, but almost nobody I know actually waited for their 21st birthday before having a drink, unless just because they don't like alcohol or for religious reasons.

I'm not sure what it's like at other colleges, but mine had kind of a funny situation. When the university was originally built, they got some kind of statute in place so that bars couldn't be built within a mile of campus. That law fell down at some point in the 20th century (my school was built in the late 19th), but nobody's still allowed to sell alcohol on campus. There's a lot of bars in the area nearby, though, and if you're over 21 you can keep alcohol in your dorm room.

I had a lot of them! I wanted to be an astronaut and/or the first female president. Also, an archaeologist, a paleontologist and a pediatrician. I don't know when I dropped the science dreams, actually.
