writer's strike "news"
Feb. 7th, 2008 05:20 pmApparently we're to take Michael "I almost ran fricking Disney into the ground" Eisner's word that the strike has come to an end.
Personally, I found this quote very interesting:
"As a result of studio cutbacks, however, many of the writers who went on strike are unlikely to return to the same big-money contracts they'd had as individuals with the studios, Eisner said"
Let's all picture someone saying that of a Teamsters' strike, shall we? They'd be dredging him out of the local river by tomorrow. But since it's just a bunch of writers, I guess we're supposed to think that kind of talk is okay. I never particularly thought this was going to end well for the writers, but damn this is crappy, if it's turning out the way he sounds like it is.
To clarify: To be frank, I wouldn't believe Eisner if he said fire is hot. I just regard this as an unpleasant indication...
