Just so you all know, according to some fundamentalist moron on NPR this morning, Anne Rice's new book about Jesus refutes Dawkins' The God Delusion.

Yup. Anne Rice's novel disproves Dawkins. Because she makes Jesus "real and human."

I think this person might be a bit confused on why atheists don't believe in god....

Anne Rice annoys me SO much. Makes people think all us Christians are wacko. Of course, some Christian's are, but not all of us! *shakes fist* Damn you Anne Rice! Crazy woman.

Don't feel too bad... she makes people think all writers are wacko, too.

There's psychos in every bunch... and they're usually the noisiest ones in the group, too, from what I can tell. :P

So so true. The crazy people make for more interesting news and mocking. XD I'll even admit that.

she makes people think all writers are wacko, too.

God, she and Laurell K. Hamilton. My god, what is it with vampire writers? (yes, I'm being facetious.)

Is she/he saying that Christians believe in fiction? Because that seems to defeat his/her point.

See, that's where my logic led me, too! I was like "so, wait. It's a good book because it's a novel that make Christ seem real... and that makes it... wait, what?"

I think he was trying to say that people would understand Christ better through her book? Which, um... seriously makes me wonder if these people have ever heard of Anne Rice before and would maybe like to take a look at some of her work before she lifted up the doilies on her couch and found god hiding underneath them. Vampire BDSM, anybody?

Let's play free association!

Vampires... drinking blood... communion wine... Jesus.

Transubstantiation is fun!

I saw her book at Costco today, and was tempted...just because it's such a random change from vampires to Jesus, but I decided against it. She's just not that good of a writer.

"Hello,
In case you haven't seen the messages in the community, [livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang just wants to remind you that the rough drafts for the writers are due on March 16!
Don't panic! We do not require a finished story yet, it's merely for us to know how many stories we'll have to expect and who drops out.
The Artist sign up period comes to an end on March 23! So if you are unsure if you'll manage to finish the story in time or want to drop out as a writer, please think about taking part as an Artist instead!
There will also be a lot more important organisational posts in the future so we would like you to add our !modpost tag to your Lj tracker (Simply follow this LINK (http://www.livejournal.com/manage/subscriptions/user.bml?journal=tardis_bigbang)) to stay up to date.

best regards,
your [livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang Mods"
