Okay, real post now that I'm off the clock at work.

Title: A Time of Grace
Fandom: Doctor Who
Timeline: New and Old Who both. ;)
Characters: Romana-centric, with Doctors Nine and Ten, and a whooole lot of familiar faces.

Summary: Romana returns, but an old enemy reappears as well. To protect what's left of Gallifrey, she travels time and space searching for a chance for the future and a way to escape the past.

Warnings: Moderately graphic sex, some strong language, discussion of domestic abuse, some violence, and spoilers through end of Season 3. Technically canon-compliant in almost every way, but definitely AU in the broader sense.
Notes: Many thanks to MayMargaret, Narsilion, and SnakeWhisperer for beta-reading at various points in the process, to the people of dw_britglish, and all who commented favorably on the standalone "tester" of Chapter 1 posted many months ago. And HUGE thanks to Boxed and Meztlimoon for an absolutely awesome illustration and a trailer that made me giddy as a shivering giddy thing. You guys rock!

I'm stuck on a really tedious and annoying task at work, which I kind of screwed up the first time I ran it, and I was juuuuust approaching the "rip out my hair and start screaming" point when your comment came in. *Hugs* Thank you. Oh decoupaging/gluing pictures to the back of dominos with slightly watered down glue, you can buld up a few layers of different pics, give it a few full coats of glue and seal with varnish. I got hold of some dominos and got a bit addicted :) (oh and drill a hole)- I'll post pics soon.

This is utterly brilliant! I feel like bouncing gleefully around the room before grabbing you up into a Ten-style spinning hug!

I loved Nine finding the stasis pod. I loved Ace - and the fact that she's friends with the Brig and Doris. I loved how *believable* you made Lucy-as-a-fobwatched-Romana. I loved Romana giving Jack hell over the stolen piece of TARDIS coral. I love Benton's son being there for Lucy and Romana. I loved the fact you brought Brigadier Bambera back. I love the appearance of Martha near the end...

Benton Jr. was one of those kind-of-weird-but-necessary decisions that ended up being a real blessing in terms of the writing. If I'd been writing it after "The Sontaran Strategem," I suppose I might have used Lt. Ross, but... I love the idea that Benton went on and had a perfectly normal life in UNIT, and John Jr. is part of that. And of course I couldn't resist bringing Martha and Bambera in! XD

Perhaps it's as well Ross wasn't in it, I might have exploded with glee (as it was, I came very close more than once!). But yes, I like the idea of Benton going on and having a normal life, and getting married and having a son...

I confess, I giggled a bit at Ten asking Martha if she was causing trouble at UNIT already!
