Oh, I love Tegan! I really didn't think I'd like her at first, she's so brash (and so very 80s with the fashion, ouch), but she won me over soooo completely. What a sweetheart. And Nyssa really is lovely and kind, and I adore the way they stand up for each other and scold the Doctor whenever he's a bit of a jerk. ♥

I was waiting for that to show up on FW. I don't understand why people don't get it. Bashing incites wank wars. Squee (generally) does not. So, the people whining why it's okay to squee but not okay to bash baffle me. Fail, DW fandom.

Well, and... honestly. We're supposed to be a fan community. While the word "fan" does, yes, come from "fanatic," it also generally assumes that we like the show. Plus, it will not offend anyone to have "I ♥ Adric" icons, whereas "DIE ADRIC DIE" is just the eensiest bit offensive even to me, and I don't even like the character. So... seriously. Not a hard concept for people with half a brain to pick up on, that it might not be the best thing in the world to start big old wars about which companion should die in a pool of lava.

That said, your icon reminds me of how much I wish that Nancy and Jamie (er... Nancy's Jamie, that is) could have been companions. Because they both would have wrapped Nine around their little fingers, and he'd have loved every minute of it. ♥

I miss Nine so much!!! Haha, I was thinking about it yesterday while watching Midnight and wondering how he'd have handled the situation. Haha. For the record, I read your comment (of course) but, NINE!!!

I DO, TOO. I made the mistake of watching a few of his episodes over the weekend, and now I'm in full-blown Nine-mourning again. Seriously, all it takes is looking at him (just your icon would've been enough if I weren't already in the mood), and I'm heartbroken all over again.

....Your icon is love, btw. Hell... just plain Nine is love. I love all the Doctors, but... oh, he'll always be mine, I can tell. I'm going to be fricking eighty, and they'll be on Doctor number thirty-seven or something, and I'll still be traumatized over Nine only having gotten one season.

...And I know how to use commas. No, really. >_>

I've only watched the most recent seasons, and I've liked all the companions.

At least the FW is pretty mild, by FW standards. This is the first time I've ever been up to date with the show, so they only time I've been able to click such links, but it's extremely mild compared the weirdness of HP wank :)

As for the HP comparison... the sad thing with DW is that half the people being wanky idiots are probably not actually teenagers. So in that way, it's actually more sad than HP fandom, because they still haven't grown out of it, despite often being, y'know... forty or something. *Sigh*

And a big YES on loving all the companions. Watching S1 over the weekend really reminded me of how much I really did like Rose before all the wank made me feel oogie about her. She's so cute, teasing the Doctor and getting wibbly about missing her mum, and getting excited about getting taken to Downing Street! Totally adorable. ♥

Dodo is funny, inquisitive, shippy with Steven, and if you read Salvation, has a great backstory.

Ben is a tiny little Cockney sailor, who is madly in love with way-out-of-his-league Polly and is absolutely devastated when he has to kill a Cyberman.

K-9 is the Doctor's best friend evah, yo.
