Okay, so... I know I'm one of the few, weird people in the world who actually didn't care for Cowboy Bebop, but... didn't Fox already have a shot with what was essentially a live-action version of it?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they did. I think it was called Firefly.
Note: This post NOT intended to offend the 98% of the universe that loves Cowboy Bebop. You gotta admit the thematic similarities are totally there, at least from what little I've seen. But, honestly, Fox having rights to anything has long since proven to be a bad thing... so mostly this is my "damn that sucks, I'm sorry your show is about to get reamed through the ass by Fox" post for y'all.
Note to Fox: No, I still haven't forgiven you for Firefly. Or for the 1996 Doctor Who fiasco (although I will say that Paul McGann = awesome, and the whole thing was very much not his fault, and in fact I quite liked the movie... and thus am even more angry at you for totally reaming it and not giving it a chance to, y'know, actually succeed on the American market, you asshats). Or for allowing Chris Carter to keep running the X-Files into the ground through the last two disastrous seasons.
And you are so not getting any money from me on the new X-Files movie until I hear a good review from someone not related in any way to the movie. So there.
