So... anybody here looking at going to Gallifrey One convention in LA? Because, um. I'm kind of thinking about it. Sort of.

By which I mean that I'm poking my roommate going "seriously? Are we serious about this? Because we've talked about it before, but... are we serious?" and wondering if other friends are going to be there. Because things like this are much more fun if there is meeting of people. *Nods*

(That said, holy shit, next month? Seriously? I cannot possibly be seriously considering this...)

I would totally, if other people were going, drive and split a hotel room. (I could probably make the drive in one day if we started from Portland, or we could spend the night in Bayeria with my parents.)

I sent you a couple emails, the first with the "yay, we should totally do it, let's figure out details!" and the second with, er, our first big hitch, ie, that the Marriott site is trying to convince me there aren't rooms open for the group rate anymore. I've emailed the con staff to see if they know whether that's true.

Yeah, they mentioned something about that on the site; OTOH with three people the non-group-rate isn't too crippling and apparently there's free breakfast.

clearly i am not the target audience for this, but if you drive, you're welcome to crash at my house on the way down! san jose is ~5 hours north of LA, or so i'm told.

I'm not sure what the plans are going to be (if we work it out, I'll be traveling in a group, so itinerary will be largely dependent on the friend who's driving!), but I will definitely keep that in mind - it'd be awesome to see you!
