Question: I cannot possibly be the only hetero- or bisexual girl in the world who doesn't find Zach Quinto attractive, can I?

Insert obligatory "not that there's anything wrong with that" clause here. I just don't, and it bemuses me because... well, because he's kind of got My Type written all over him, and yet I am so unmoved.

So... stand up and be counted, ye other 'nope, not seeing it!' people... because I'm feeling very alone in this right now, and slightly afraid that if I keep up with this whole 'sucked back into the old fandom' thing, I may just develop some sort of... backhanded attraction-by-association thing. o_O Sort of like how the more you watch Doctor Who, the more likely you are to eventually find yourself completely un-bothered by the idea of any of the Doctors? And to even sort of find all of them attractive? Or maybe that's just me... There but for the grace of 'dear god, no' go I, I suppose, anyway.

Anyway. Humor me, people. I'm feeling sullied and unusual exhausted and crummy from a messy day at work and a nasty bout of hormones.

*Clings to icon* All this excitement over the movie is great, but the new fans get me kind of twitchy sometimes with their "omg QUINTO" while I'm sitting there going "mmm... Nimoy... I mean, wait, what?"

Speaking of, I really do need to find some good Trek icons to go with this current binge of mine. Did you make yours, or where did you find it?

Mmm, maybe that's why I don't give a damn, too. I was underwhelmed by Heroes in general (and that was the first season, when by all accounts I've heard it was at its best.

...Besides, I was too distracted by Christopher Eccleston and George Takei to give a single damn about little prissy Sylar. :D

I'm still seeing Nimoy in my head for all the Spock parts.

That's my explanation for everything at the moment. Even during the movie, I was all "YAY, SPOCK!"... and then they'd do a close-up and I swear my poor little brain would recoil in horror - "WHO THE HELL - oh, right, it's you. Damn. Oh, hey, look! There's the other, old Spock! Yay, Spock! ♥♥♥"

I think my brain has managed, through sheer force of optimism, to stick young!Leonard-Nimoy!Spock into all the Quinto!Spock bits and just sort of shut off all other possibility. That way I don't have to feel weird about feeling strangely pervy over Spock while still having the "ack, Quinto" reaction. *Nods*

It is definitely interesting. I keep trying to figure out what it is, exactly, about him that I don't like. Because for the most part, his features on an individual basis each would normally be appealing to me. I'm a fan of the high cheekbones, dark hair, pale skin, dark eyes... it's just somehow all coming together with him in something that kind of makes me go "something's just not quite right there."

And, honestly? I was too busy comparing him unfavorably to my beloved Leonard Nimoy to get a clear read on his acting ability. Oops. :P

I didn't recognize the name, so I googled it. My first thought when I saw the pictures? "Oh god, Sylar!" Sylar-as-Spock is one of the main reasons I don't want to see the new Star Trek movie. Honestly, after you see a man cut people's heads open and generally act like a very scary crazy person, it's dificult to see him as anything else. Or at least it is for me.

On this day I, [livejournal.com profile] diea, stand up to be recognized as a bisexual woman who is not attracted to Zach Quinto.

Um, and if you don't know what I'm babbling about with Sylar, it's the name of Quinto's character on Heroes.

Anyway. I agree with you, he's just... slightly creepy. I didn't see the really scary bits of Heroes, only a few eps of the first season, but... still. He's just kind of a creepy looking guy!

I was really confused when Heroes fen thought he was hot, and I suspect I would have thought so even if he hadn't been Sylar!!!, but now that he is, I suspect I could never be convinced that he's hot. He's just Sylar. (This is also one reason I may never see this Star Trek movie. Well, I can't speak for straight or bisexual girls, but this bisexual boy is desperately hoping there'll be an hour-long Chris Pine/Zach Quinto make-out session deleted scene on the DVD. Sorry. :) If your problem is that he's "too pretty," that's totally fine -- you can just leave the too-pretty boys for me to drool over, 'kay? :)
____

And as for the Doctors:

One -- Umm. Ew?
Two -- Just too much like somebody's uncle.
Three -- .... If I had more of a thing for older men, then yeah, I would find him attractive, but I don't, so I'm not. (Exceptions: see "Bowie, David" and "McKellan, Ian".)
Four -- I totally get *why* people are attracted to him, but no, my buttons aren't pushed.
Five -- *Now* we're getting somewhere. Sure. In a heartbeat.
Six -- Sure. His personal magnetism alone would be enough. But he was cute, too.
Seven -- Hmm. No? Not entirely sure why not, but no.
Eight -- OH MY GOD YES PLEASE WHERE DOES THE LINE FORM *ahem*
Nine -- I waver. When he's being all goofy, then I just can't see it -- and then he gets all quiet and intense, and, yeah.
Ten -- the character? No, not really. Too fucked up in an I'm-not-going-to-take-responsibility-for-any-of-my-bullshit way for me to find him attractive. But David Tennant? He once said in an interview, "A bottle of wine and I'm anyone's." If I ever go to a convention he's at, I am bringing a bottle of wine and holding him to that.
Eleven -- will have to see the actual *character* first, but I suspect so.

Probably a more detailed breakdown than you were looking for, but there you are. :)
