My interview questions, given to me by
jyuu_chan. You know the drill - if you want to be interviewed by me, just say so in a comment to this entry, and I'll reply with questions. Then you answer them in your own entry, with the same offer to interview other people.
1. Name your favorite scent and what it makes you think of. Oh god - one favorite scent? Okay... I think it's the grassy, leafy, earthy sort of smell of a forest on a summer day, when the sun pulls the smell out of the trees. Makes me think of hiking, of that serene but excited feeling that I get when I'm in a forest. I have lots of scents that I love, though, so that's a really hard choice to make.
2. What are the five things you would like in a significant other, ideally? 1. Common interests. It's impossible to get really close with someone you don't share at least some interests with, especially the really important ones - for me, avid interest in reading is a must, as is an interest in the outdoors and the natural world.
2. Partnership/companionship. I have my own life, and I expect the other person to have their own life, too. But those should intersect, and we should be able to just... spend time together. Not necessarily doing anything special, but I do expect working together on stuff.
3. Concern/caring/interest. You know how some people eventually seem as though they aren't really interested in how your day went, and will talk forever without listening to you or asking what you think? Yeah. I want *not* that.
4. Responsibility. I'm not saying you should have a hugely high-paying job and a paid-off house, but I'd like to know that you pay your bills, take care of things, and are generally a mature adult.
5. A sense of humor and fun, but not to the extent of being totally about that to the detriment of all else.
3. What is your biggest regret? I'm not so good at actually getting out and making new friends as I should be - I've probably missed some really good chances and really interesting people that way. I know there's plenty of people I regret keeping contact with, too.
4. What do you feel is your "talent", or the one thing you do that you excel in more than others? Writing, I think - particularly analysis type writing. I've got a skill for finding suitable words and putting them in proper order, I think - an instinctive grasp on how things should be put forth on paper. It doesn't seem like much, sometimes, but it's something.
5. Tell me something that makes you think about me specifically. Whenever people say "butterfly!" I remember your explanation of why you wouldn't make a good field herald. And anybody who's allergic to bees, 'cause I think you were one of the first people I've known who carried one of those kits.
