Since I'm around and awake and working on stuff while The Boy is snoozing off an unhappy stomach... how about a meme gacked from [livejournal.com profile] vega_ofthe_lyre: Give me a [fictional] character [that you're pretty sure I'm familiar with] and I will tell you one book (or poem) they love.

Spock. (Either incarnation.)

Oh, gosh. Lemme see.

I think either version of Spock would greatly enjoy Sherlock Holmes, while still managing to be utterly perplexed by aspects of him (more Prime than New, on that last bit - New!Spock has embraced his passionate side a lot more than Prime already, and in a more violent way - I think he would be less boggled by Holmes' illogical passions). Either way, I think he'd find the books fascinating, and an intellectual challenge (which of course is why he reads them... not at all because he enjoys them).

I know this sounds awful, but all I can think of is Bridget Jones Diary. So wrong, but once the thought occurred to me, it wouldn't go away. And I love that book, so I'm sticking with it. XD

Since we've been discussing him elsewhere... Ten.

I keep coming back to T.S. Eliot in my mind, when it comes to Ten. "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" might have to be my choice.

Badger.
(Admittedly, his Very Fine Hat may be more of a reader than he is.)

Oh, Badger. Badger would totally be a Twain and Dickens fan. And penny dreadfuls, the pulpier the better. I can't think of specific titles, but I can totally seem him in hanging out, feet on the table, reading a pulp novel. With his tea. ♥

Awww, Romana. I'm going to divide this - I think Romana I would totally have been the type for Jane Eyre. She'd have hated to admit it, but she'd have loved it.

Romana II, I'm thinking, is more the type for Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's got the science, and it's random and witty. ♥

Gosh, something sort of dark but funny in a quirky way. I have a feeling whatever it is, it's something I haven't actually read.

I keep coming back to comic books, though - maybe it's the U-boat captain thing coming back to haunt him, and since I'm stuck with stuff that I've read, I'm going to go for the Hellboy comics. Because I think he'd get a kick out of them, darn it. ♥
