Just watched the first two episodes of B5 (and "Soul Hunter") with The Boy, who is seeing it for the first time. The first episode I've always felt is fairly "meh" (my first ever episode was "Parliament of Dreams," which I adore, but The Boy is a completist and likes to watch things in Proper Order), but I was surprised to be reminded that Londo's dream of his own death is set up so early. In "Soul Hunter," I was surprised to be reminded that Delenn's real position in Minbari society was revealed so soon... and of course I got a bit wibbly at the Soul Hunter's mention of Dukhat.

Still don't like Sinclair that much. Still iffy about Garibaldi. Liking Franklin more this time, and, as before, adoring Londo, G'Kar, and Delenn. Ivanova's dialogue is very stiff and stilted in parts of the first season, it seems - I'd never noticed that before.

Boy: "So, the commander guy is going to die pretty soon, isn't he? By season three at least." Me: "Nope." Him: "Then he'll get demoted." Me: "Nope." *Grins*

Boy, after Londo's speech about how he and G'Kar will die with their hands around each other's throats: "So, they're going to be best friends by a few seasons in." Me: *Grins* "Nope."

God I can't wait to see how some of the later stuff hits him. ♥

Heh. I've finally sucked Joan in. We watched Deathwalkers and Believers this weekend.

We have skipped to the last segment for a few of them (Infection, and maybe one other), as simply not worth the time to watch.

Awesome! I can only hope I'll be able to convince mine to do the same... he's very into watching everything of a show in order. The times I've managed it have been by putting my foot down with an absolute "You can watch (this episode) if you want, but I'm going to go do something else, and don't blame me when it's horrible." I've only done that once, so far - with an episode of Buffy that I just didn't want to deal with again.

Infection, if I remember correctly, will be one I try desperately to convince him to only watch the end of. :P

B5 rewatch omg win! I remember really liking Sinclair at least in the sense that I was pretty gutted at the start of season 2 when we got Sheriden and all he did was use that terrible grin of his :)

Delenn is awesome in s1 with all her supersecret grey council stuff and it's weird seeing her with a full headbone thing :)

Hope you guys enjoy it :)

Here I am at five in the morning unable to sleep and reding my friends page. Babylon 5 is one of the four greatest science Fiction shows of the twentieth century. The plots are complex, the story arc just keeps going and going, and the fifth season managed to kick it into gear even though JMS wasn't sure there was even going to be a fifth season.

TNT's treatment of the show was shitty at best, downright petty and prejudiced at worst. I wish Crusade would have been given the respect it so richly deserved. Now that was looking to turn into a damn good show. They could easily have gotten 5 seasons out of it, and added to the continuity of the entire universe if they'd just let that show take its natural course.

BTW, have you ever seen the last movie? I believe it was Legen of the Rangers: To Live and Die in Starlight. The music was superb, the acting was great, and the plot was just perfect! I especially loved the snarky, amusing flair Andreas brought back to the role of G'Karr.

Anyway, I've rambled on about this long enough. Maybe I'll try to get a couple more hours of sleep.

Sounds like you found season 1 somewhere, were you able to find season 2 also? I was feeling icky this weekend, and didn't go anywhere.

It turns out I'd been confused and already had S2, so we're good. Thank you!

Oh, that's so exciting! ♥ Soul Hunter was my favourite for the longest time. Man, now I feel like watching--I haven't seen anything pre-s2 in ages.
