Apparently, the terms 'vagina' and, hilariously, 'down there,' are too racy for certain US television networks.

Quote: "Tampon is not a dirty word, and neither is vagina" [says the company who made the TV ads in question.] Au contraire, say squeamish networks that think lady-products are icky.

Someone on UnfunnyBusiness asked if this means the same networks will be removing ads for Viagra, since they refer to erection. I somehow doubt it.

Pity no one's telling which three networks refused the ads. I'd love to send them a few choice words of response to their idiocy.

sigh!

What do you want to bet it was ABC, Fox, and CBS? These are the same networks, BTW, who did not want to agree to the FCC's terms to provide descriptive narration to prime time television for the blind and visually impaired audience even though they were given financial insentive to do so.

Seriously? o_O You wouldn't think that'd be that tough for the big boys to provide...

Honestly, I'd sort of assumed it'd have to be smaller networks, but you could very well be right. At the very least it does sound like the kind of thing that asshole Murdoch would be totally behind.
