Unexpected/emergency run to grandparents' last night, as Grandpa's oxygen levels have been on a steep decline, new medicine didn't work at all, now has hospice person and morphine and still isn't eating or able to swallow, etc. Almost everybody was there, which... is a lot of people in my grandparents' little house. It was actually kind of nice, talking to my cousins and all. There was some trading of stories, and generally a good atmosphere.
Stayed there until 12:30, at which boy the Boy and I realized we'd missed the last light rail home, and had to get a ride from Mom back to the city. Didn't get to bed until nearly 2.
Am so freaking exhausted.

Date: 2010-05-19 05:26 pm (UTC)It's good that your family all gathered, and I hope your grandfather was coherent enough to realize that such a large turnout gathered on his behalf. I would think that, if I were in his position, I would feel comforted by the outpouring of support. :)
My sympathies to you for what you and your family are going through, though. :\
