tired but crafty
Aug. 9th, 2010 09:40 pmFor those who might be interested, I've just joined Ravelry as rivendellrose, and would be happy of more friends over there. ♥ In other knitting news I'm almost finished with the main knitting on my Ravenclaw scarf (version 2.0, a million times better than the one I made in college) - I still have to finish up, do the fringe, and weave in my loose ends, but the B5 rewatch has been great for my productivity.
In other news, we had a major weather shift here in Seattle the last few days, and today I developed a sinus headache, dizziness, and some heart palpitations to go with it. Loooovely stuff, let me tell you. I skipped the gym this evening, and am going to bed early, because I really really really want to be totally recovered from whatever this is by Thursday, when The Boy and I start taking a swing dancing class at the local dance studio. I've never taken a full, formal course on swing before, so this'll be a good refresher for me - I picked it up all in a few short lessons back in high school, but I adore it and can't wait to get back into it.
And now to work on the Secret Project for a little while before I disappear to bed. I think I'm on-target for my deadline, but I really don't want to fall behind. ♥

Good for the sinus issues and the heart palpitations.
Hope you are feeling better soon, I think alot of us are having the sinus issues with all the changes.

Date: 2010-08-10 05:57 am (UTC)Long ago, I tried knitting a Gryffindor scarf for my baby sis. It was... agonising. And I never finished. I still want to make a Ravenclaw one, but I'm not sure I can handle it. Maybe now that I can knit without looking, it might go better? I want to knit it in the POA movie style with book colours... hmm...
Anyway, swing dancing sounds fun! I'd love to try it some time, but not sure I have the guts! I hope you feel better soon! (boo, this weather >:( )

Date: 2010-08-10 09:00 pm (UTC)Knitting without looking is totally what makes it possible. I knit while I'm watching TV or movies - I keep the knitting bag right by my chair, so that I don't even have to go find it, and as soon as we sit down to watch something, the knitting comes out. ...Also, I redid the scarf a bit so that it's a lot thinner, but just as long. Makes it faster and easier, and, I think, a little easier to wear (the really thick ones always seem like too much scarf unless it's really cold out).
Awwww, you should try! Basic basic basic swing's not hard to learn, especially for girls - it's one of those dances where if you learn the basic step and then get a good lead, you can look awesome while hardly having a clue what's going on. :)
