It would just figure that the President is visiting on the day my office is bussing us to a special meeting thing downtown.

"The president's four-hour Seattle visit is likely to snarl Interstate 5 and downtown traffic through the late afternoon." Ha. Ha. Ha. At least we're taking charter buses... and I have a book... and my writing notebook... and my smart phone..........

....And yes, since I apparently got rid of my "Under New Management" post-election icon, I have decided that Sheridan is the next most obvious icon choice. It's totally appropriate, shuttup. ;)

It might be ever-so-slightly warranted... :P

Come to think of it, I want the part of the 5th season where everyone's mad at Sheridan for not being able to fix every problem in the universe all at once. Much more realistic that way. *Sighs*

But President Sheridan DID fix all the problems in the universe! He was the most perfect and infallable politician EVER!

I mean, except for that whole "colony of telepaths" thing. Major failblog there. And the part where he listend to the voices of the technomages in his head and did everything they told him to do, which, you know. Voters TOTALLY go for that. Oh, and sometimes he could be a little dense about alien cultures, but certainly THAT doesn't matter for the President of Everything.

...

How he hell did he manage to stay in office for 18 years? He sucked :P

He stayed in office because Ivanova and Delenn glared at anyone who tried to say that maybe he should step down or something.

I love the guy, but... yeeeeeah. His greatest virtues are pretty much "he's adorable like a puppy, and the women who love him will absolutely destroy you if you don't go along with him."

Don't they get mad at him during S5 at some point? I admit, I've blocked much of it from my mind, but I seem to recall someone somewhere being pissed off. (Wishful thinking?)

Probably? I'm... honestly not sure. As you said, I seem to have blocked large swathes of S5 from my mind...

Yikes, and then that silly guy in the no-fly zone, and here come the fighter jets causing the sonic booms and scaring half the city!
So how was the meeting after all that?

Apparently! I must have already been in the meeting (or maybe still up in the office?) when that happened, because I neither heard nor saw a thing. But I saw links to the Kiro article later. The poor people at Kenmore Air must have been pretty frazzled, having the guy forced to land in their harbor!

Oh, it was fine. Lots and lots and lots of powerpoint slides, almost none of which had anything to do with my job. So, really, a pretty typical meeting. But they did feed us and give us drinks and such, so that was cool. And we have New Company goodies, too, which was sweet of them.
