not gearing up for post-nano, not at all

You know how when you go to the grocery store (or, worse, the drug store...), you sometimes catch yourself looking at the collection of items that you're purchasing and thinking "god, I hope the cashier doesn't pay attention to the image all this paints together" (like when you buy, I don't know, vaseline, eyeshadow, lipstick, and chewing gum? All for innocent purposes! But together it looks like you're thinking about making a really scary porno, which... is totally not really my point, but is perhaps somewhat related, tangentially)? Well, over the course of this weekend I bought:

Gee, I wonder what picture all of that paints when put together. I'm not subconsciously (and over-academically) gearing up for a post-NaNo fic-writing binge... no, not at all...

Ooohhhh, all three books sound like something I'd like to read. :)

So far they're all very fun! "Mystic Cults in Magna Graecia" is very academic, and is therefore giving me a good stretch of my academical wings (whole passages quoted, untranslated, from French sources! Thank goodness I read French a lot more fluently than I speak it... though I could do without the lack of translation on some bits of Greek as I barely read a few words of that...), and all three are lovely fun. Quite worthwhile if you get the chance.
