*sigh* To be honest, as sad as it is, I don't think that we're going to follow any time soon. I just don't see it. But, I do sincerely hope I'm wrong. And yay, for NY!

Forget Washington State, I want the feds to follow suit. If one of the most populous states in the union has passed this, the gubment needs to sit up and take note. It's long past time for us to catch up with the cool kid countries.

Agreed, completely. The Moral Idiocy seems to think that they're going to lead a backlash, but the most recent polls are saying that 50% of Americans are for gay marriage now - a first, and a sure sign, IMHO, that the time has come. I'm crossing my fingers that the backlash to this one will be a last, gasping hiccup that goes absolutely nowhere. I want this to stick, damn it!
