i need another weekend...

Had a great weekend hanging out with the boy, but that did also mean not nearly enough sleep. :P I got very little done, but we had fun nonetheless.

First day in the new office today, and everything from my desk seems to have survived the trip intact and arrived correctly, including my Dalek and my coffee cups and so on, all of which I was a little worried about. So now I'm bopping around trying to figure out all the new-office stuff, and wishing I wasn't going to be moving desks again at the end of this week, moving up to a different floor. Bleh.

My calico goldfish (the one I call the Doctor) died over the weekend - he'd been acting really weird and lethargic for a while, so it wasn't a surprise, but I was still sad for the poor little guy. The red and white one, Romana, is still fine... and the trapdoor snail, the Master, has regenerated reproduced. I was looking in the tank on Friday night and all of a sudden I noticed that there was a little rock on one of the plants. Except it wasn't a rock... it had antennae. It's a tiny trapdoor snail, about half the size of my pinky fingernail. So now "The Master" is officialy "Delgado," and the new little guy is "Simm." Because he's little, and unexpected, and his shell is all pretty light-brown colored. And also because I'm a total dork. ;)

You didn't mention if the Doctor was going to regenerate. I know Romana is perfectly happy on her own, but the audience might feel a bit... dissatisfied.

Ehhh.... not at the moment. I'm going to watch how she behaves, and if she starts acting lonely (...whatever that looks like, in a fish...) or if I decide I really want another in there with her, I'll look into it, but for the moment I think it might be easier to keep the tank clean with just one fish. Goldfish are such dirty little fish!

(Also, I sort of want to see if, now that she's got the tank all to herself, Romana will get any bigger... She's a very nice size right now, but the fancy goldfish always look so cool when they're larger...)

I'm so sorry about the Doctor. Maybe the new baby trapdoor snail is his regeneration? (hey, it could happen)

I'm with everyone else Simm has got to be the Doctor's regeneration, it's a pity you missed the light show! But sorry about the fish, I hope Romana is ok on her own.

Good luck with the desk moving esp. the Dalek mug! I really want to make one out of clay now, or modify a mug I have, with the little domes and the plunger and everything, it would get broken so quickly but how cool would it be!?

She seems to be just fine. She's always been the more active of the two... I guess I always knew if one of them was going to die on me it'd be the Doctor first.

*grin* So your desk has a Dalek, too. What kind? I've got the Dalek Sec action figure sitting here to my right .... I keep being tempted to bring in the radio-controlled one, but I worry that something might happen to it. The figure, at least, is pretty easily replaced.

(I hate hate hate what they ended up doing with Dalek Sec, but you can't go wrong with basic black.)
