I hate how short weekends feel when I'm busy the whole time. That said, I got a lot done this weekend. Went to gaming night over at [livejournal.com profile] nightsinger's place and hung out with her and [livejournal.com profile] tavern_wench1 and the mini-Time-Lady (and others, and my Boy), and, well, drank probably too much. Then went out to the zoo and to Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co. the next day, and Sunday... I bought all the stuff I needed to have Romana's outfit from "City of Death" for the con! I already had the straw boater and red shoes, so now I've got a black dress that I'll be fixing up, a white blouse, and a cute little red tie. I even learned how to tie the tie. ♥ I am stupidly excited about having this outfit - expect pictures as soon as the dress is finished being modified.

I also bought a new hat, a necklace, a new dress, some boots... yeah, I had a big shopping day. ;) Oh, and really really cute brown galoshes with orange and white flowers on them! They're adorable.

One other thing that happened - it appears that I have more snails. I now appear to have five, possibly six, trap-door snails. Which... is a bit of a rise from having two. The 3-4 (I still haven't gotten a good count, because they're little and they hide easily) new ones are itty-bitty, about the same size as the gravel... and they're going to need new homes, guys. I can't keep six trap-door snails in my one little tank, not once they've gotten bigger. And the first baby has been growing pretty damned fast. So, I'm going to check with the store where I got them from, but... does anybody want a pet baby snail? They're really cute, they eat algae off the inside of your tank, and they take minimal care!

I'm totally, absurdly excited. XD

That's one problem with the little guys - I'm running out of Masters! The first one was "The Master" until #2 showed up - then they became "Delgado" and "Simm" (because the little one was kind of dark-gold colored on account of not being covered in dark algae yet.)

I guess as long as I've got the others, it'll be... Braxiatel, Maxil, Flavia, and... er... Borusa?

SO I fail miserably at old!skool who, I had to google all of them! Do you still have the fish? Doctor and Romana wasn't it? It's like Timelords under the sea, or rather in you fish tank - grow your own - now that would be crack fic for how the Doc re populated 'New Galifrey'!

The Doctor died, alas, but Romana's still hanging in there, so far. :) So it's definitely Gallifrey in there - the Doctor ran off, as usual.

It's like Sea Monkeys, only it's Sea Time Lords. ;)

You mean he didn't regenerate? Maybe that's where the extra snail came from!

Lol. Yeah, don't worry - I just thought I'd toss the idea out, in case someone local desperately wanted one. ;)

I can't have a snail. With Remus it would be fine, but you know Snape, he has no manners whatsoever. Poor little snail would be dead before any of us knew it! What a weekend you had, can't wait to see the costume when it's done!
Are you at all interested in doing the Seattle 3 day Breast cancer walk? It's in September (11th-13th) and I'm goig to do it. I'm thinking of getting a team together. Let me know if you're interested.

Awwww, we could get you a tank with a good top...

But no, I'm kidding - I'll find a spot for them, and I know snails aren't everybody's tea, least of all with kitties. ;)

Let's talk about the details at some point - I'm not sure what all is involved, honestly, but it could be a good thing to do.

Hee, that happened to me with hamsters once (well, only, I curiously only had one hamster in the cage...). The babies were cute as a button, but there were just so many of them!

That's exactly how this whole thing started for me... ONE snail, and then suddenly... two. o_O I had no idea that snails could reproduce asexually, or, failing that, that they have such a long gestation period.

That said, it *is* a gestation period - the little guys give live birth, so I guess... it's still highly disconcerting.
